The scheme

The courtyard

Pale brick, deep-set windows

Twenty homes on a 0.11 hectare backland site in Lincoln’s historic core, built in pale brick with deep-set windows.

A terrace of six buildings forms the north side of a courtyard, with a seventh building on Grantham Street completing the street frontage and providing gated access. Two Grade II listed houses were restored, one rebuilt owing to its condition, and the apartments were given shallow plans, wide frontages and French doors. The scheme won a Housing Design Award and a RIBA Award.

Like Bailgate Court, it was designed with Jonathan Hendry Architects.
